Atabing
This is my first post so bare with me. I have a question about an issue I'm having with my 1911 and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Taurus 1911 I shoot Steel Challenge with. I took it apart the other day and did some polishing to the internals with rouge. The only thing that I changed was I adjusted the "ears" on the trigger bar slightly to take out some of the pre-travel. I put it back together and everything works EXCEPT now I have hammer follow only when the grip safety is engaged and I shut the slide. If I release the slide without engaging the grip safety, no hammer follow. Thought it was possibly the finger on the sear spring that touches the sear so I moved it forward a bit but with no luck. Any ideas? Thanks
Steve RA
The arm on the grip safety is probably touching the back of the trigger. I'd check that. It would be the bottom of the arm.
Atabing
I’ll check that this evening, didn’t think of that. thanks
Atabing
Figured out my issue, and don’t laugh I’m not an expert gunsmith. Adjusted my trigger set screw for over travel and fixed the issue. Hopefully this will help someone else out there.
