EliteGuard
What is your opinion on dry firing with the hammer cocked vs just pulling the trigger. I find that when I dry fire, the front sight stays steady if I pull the trigger with the hammer cocked, but If I try with the hammer down then the front sight moves. The gun is an STI Edge. What does everybody else do?
MemphisMechanic
Well, as practical shooters our goal is always to learn to hit the trigger harder and faster without moving the gun. Practicing the same old trigger control you can already pull off, won’t make you any better. Hint: Grip harder.
hrhawk
Think Vogel has a video where he talks about Training with a dead trigger.
B585
I like to use the 1/2 cocked position. My 2011 has a different trigger pull uncocked compared to cocked and the 1/2 cocked seems about the same as cocked. 1/2 cocked also allows the safety to function.
