DJForresta
Having trouble knowing exactly what I have here. Its chambered in .40 SW. I called STI and they don't have a searchable serial # database for of this vintage. Any ideas? Never seen a serial # like this.

sfinney
Well, obviously a custom #.... from a championship prize table maybe? What matches had these initials in 1996? Maybe for 2nd place?
Flatland Shooter
I'd bet it was a trophy gun at a match back in 1996 with a custom serial number. OOPS, Shaun types faster than me. Edited June 1, 2018 by Flatland Shooter

DJForresta
Whats something like this sell for? Its got 4 perfectly tuned mags with it. My son is in love with it but he's more of a 9mm guy.
Ming the Merciless
You might want to ask Brian Enos about that pistol. If I remember correctly he won the Limited division at the 1996 Golden Gate Championship, and I can't remember who won the Open division, it was either Todd Jarret or Rob Leatham. They gave away 2 custom pistols, one to each division.
DJForresta
Wow thats pretty awesome! Its a pretty slick piece for sure. I'm not sure how to get ahold of Brian Enos but if I do I'll tell him John Shaw says hi and maybe try to get a history lesson on this gun.

DJForresta
the rail can be removed. Not sure if it came that way or if it was added later.

mciver52
Might be worth hanging on to...pretty cool story behind it if it pans out.
Ming the Merciless
The pistol looks to have been modified considerably since 1996, the metal grip, magwell, extended mag release, and trigger have all been changed and the add-on picatinny rail looks like an airsoft part for Hi-Cappa airsoft pistol. I've been thinking about adding the same rail to one of my pistols for a light since we now have some night matches locally.
