minnesota1
My S&W 617 cylinder is undersized. Cases stick really bad in it. I need to get a cylinder reamer. I’ve had an action job and other things done to it so I don’t think I can send it back to Smith. I’m not sure which reamer to get so I thought I’d ask y’all. If there’s a cheaper place to buy one let me know as well. Let me know what you recommend. I appreciate it! AzShooter
Order the Cliemer reamer from Brownells and do it yourself. Works real easy. Get some cutting oil to go with the reamer instead of just using your gun oil. It will work much better.
practical_man
I like Manson or PTG reamers generally. I have a PTG for 22 LR. Cut slowly with lots of oil and you should be fine. A caution about sticky chamber 22s. It could be they are oversized rather than undersized. If only fired cases stick, or only after firing a few times it might be oversized chambers. I found that on an old model 18 no dash. Chamber casting revealed the problem.
