Typical level 1 match round count

My first match is on Saturday and I'm wondering what the typical round count I should be prepared for is in a level 1 match, Production or Limited? Then there's that choice too...Production or Limited...

How many stages?

I usually figure min at 30 per and bring 50% more than that.

Or I used to, my two main clubs knock on 200 often so I just throw 300 in the bag and usually load my mags.

I have no idea how many stages yet, I'll find out when we get there but there's going to be 300 in the bag. Hope that should do me for this first go around.

About 180 locally, but bring more if you need a reshoot.

Hadn't considered a reshoot but fro what others have said I think I'm covered even for a reshoot. Thanks!

You've found an exceptional level 1 or had a very bad day if 300 doesn't get you through with plenty left over. Have fun.

BTW, I'd suggest taking all 300 of those rounds and "gauging" them.

I prefer to Plunk them ALL in the barrel I'm going to be shooting with,

but they do also sell gauges so you don't have to go thru the terrible

trouble of taking the barrel out of your gun and using that as a gauge.

BUT, your actual barrel/chamber is MUCH better than any gauge.

Any rounds that are suspicious, I take out and put them into a

"Practice Only" pile.   You'll probably find that all of them chamber

properly anyway, but better to be safe.

Oh, and check for "high primers".   If the primer sticks up above

the case, even by a little bit, I put those rounds into the "Practice

Only" pile, as well.

Have fun    :)

Number of stages times 32. Then add 32 for a reshoot. Then add 25% of that total number to cover things like make up shots, losing rounds and so on. Six stage local for me then is 280 rounds.

I never use my barrel to 'gauge' round I'll use for competition.  I use a Hondo gauge and it is better.  If it doesn't fall to the bottom of the Hondo, it goes into the practice pile.  All the 'practice' rounds chamber and feed, so the Hondo is tighter than my chambers. If it fits in the Hondo, it absolutely will feed during the match.

Thanks, that's a good way to look at it.

I bring 300 rounds to every club match and I have NEVER run out. Gotten close a couple of times, but never ran out before the match was over.

Sage advise, thanks!
