Tampa-XD45
This RIA 9mm 1911 has Dawson Precision sights with their .040" rod which seems pretty skinny to my aging eyes. I'd like to replace it with a larger rod. What front sight has the largest diameter fiber rod that I can put in this 1911? Or can this one be drilled to accommodate a larger rod? f2benny
When you change the rod melt a bigger glob on the end.
troupe
Novak has a huge fiber dot. I think the dot is .90 or bigger. the front is .145 wide if I remember correctly. Been looking at it myself to go with my .155 rear notch. Old eyes are tough, but it beats the alternative for sure.
tcazes
You dont need to replace the whole sight. Just replace the fiber rod and make the bulb bigger on the end racing you. You can easily make that .040 look like a .
jpm2953
Still looking? I have a factory fiber optic sight from my RIA Ultra. It’s twice as big as that Dawson We could work out a trade?
