Extractor problems

Ck arms 9mm major pistol with an after extractor and ddp red dot.

Im seeing brass marks on the back right corner of the red dot mount.  I'm also getting one jammed vertically, like a stove pipe, about once every 100 or so.  Is there a way to tune the extractor?  Or is there something else possibly wrong.

I cleaned the extractor and it's still doing it, thought that could be a cause.  Any help would be appreciated.

Which is probably the extractor tension is a little light.  I thought the ckarms guns typically come with instructions for how many aftec springs and when to add and whatever, based on how many rounds through it

Same setup, 9 with the Everglades mount. The old after ran great, it's only this newer one that does it.  I thought it might break in or be the mags, but it does it with any mag and has 2k through the new one.  I have another one I could throw in there, but didn't know if there was a trick to getting the brass to shoot strait out and not out and up.

I had some issues with my CK slide and ejector. The hole for the ejector in the CK slide is very low compared to all my other 1911 slides. Both CK slide I have are like this. Most of my 1911,2011 slides have the ejector hole at about 9 o'clock looking at the breech face. My CK slides are at 7:00

I had to reshape the ejector and the pad on the ejector. No issues since. Not an Aftec though.

Basically tuning the ejector to the slide.  After doing this , I have had no ejection issues with 9 Major and even went back to standard CMore mount instead of the offset mount.

I will see if I can get a picture. Take the slide off the gun and see if the extractor will hold the Bullet in place. Should hold the bullet in place with some slight pressure.

Then you have to install it on the gun with a fully loaded mag. The round it picks up from the mag should slide up into place and be held by the extractor.

You may have to reshape the bottom edge of the extractor so it funnels the round into it. Otherwise, the round will not slip under the extractor, but be pushed forward and the front usually flips up.

Needs to do it smoothly so it does not stop the slide as well.

I will see if I can find the YouTube video.

Here, that might help some.

Doesn't talk about shaping the nose of the extractor to slide over the rim, but there are quite a few diagrams and videos on Google about that as well.

You're talking about the extractor, right?  Not the ejector.

And the extractor holds the case in place during the rearward movement of the slide, until it hits the ejector, which flips it from the grip of the extractor and out the ejection port...

Correct! I went back and edited a second time but must not have saved it!

I did  use a short Ejector vs the extended length ejector and it works great with the 9Major.

If the EXTRACTOR does not hold until the case hits the ejector, the Rds in the mag will push the fired case up before it can hit the extractor, causing stove pipes.

I was having an issue with my DVC Open hitting the bottom of the CMore slideride mount so I replaced it with an RTS2 and mount. I was still hitting the bottom of the new mount as well as erratic ejection of the spent cartridges as proven by iPhone slo-mo video. My extractor was loose in the channel, like I could move it with my finger. I “tuned” the extractor and now the ejection is always in the same spot. Good luck [emoji106]

Follow up on my original post.  Went for the easiest fix first (second aftec spring) and after 800 flawless rounds today I think that did the trick.
