.45 ACP nut Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 (edited) So, I get the mount from EGW (for my SP-01) and the instructions say to put a piece of paper between the sight and the mount. No reason or explanation of how thick a piece of paper. I emailed EGW a week ago and still haven't received an answer. I am hoping someone here could tell me the reasoning behind this 'practice'. jcc7x7 Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 "MAY" be that some sights have the battery exposed and it "MAY" ground out etc. !) years ago I milled my M&P slide for a Luepold DP1 and put a piece of scotch tape between the battery and slide. Worked great , zero problems with the sight for several years until gun was sold. BTW its still being used as originally built JUST a thought
