bigdawgbeav
Has anyone tested 147gr coated bullets with 244? The load data from Hodgdon's only has it for a Hornady XTP.

rowdyb
yes, out of 3 different guns. g17, g34 and shadow 2. 1.145" oal, 147gr plated Berrys round nose. the 3.4 got me 130pf out of the G17 but was 135pf out of the Shadow 2. 3.3 was good out of the 34 and Shadow 2. i was developing an ipsc nats for the g17 load and in it 3.3 had too many too close to 125pf. they made it, but there was a trend and i don't trust being near the edge. 3.2 didn't make it out of the g17, but did out of the 5" guns, but it was like 127, 128pf on average. bigdawgbeav
Got to the range today, only chrono'd 10 rounds of 147gr. PC Bullets over 3.3grs of 244, OAL set to 1.08. I ended up with a 952 ft/s average. Spread of 34, SD of 11... A whopping 139.9 PF!This was out of my Canik TP9 SFx. I would go less of a charge, but the volume is so low already you really need to make sure there is actually powder in the case.
