SiG Lady
I hate falling down and breaking my arm (last Wednesday). Absolutely hate it. Short-stay surgery tomorrow. Looking forward to it. The EMTs loved all the gun photos on my living room wall. We had a nice chat about my Kimber and others. It's a small town. They were great. At least it wasn't my RIGHT arm. SiG Lady
Surgery went flawlessly. I'm fine. I'll scan the pics of the X-rays of new hardware in the arm and post them sometime this week. (I'm getting way too bionic.) The Sheriff's Office/Jail Staff this afternoon sent me a HUGE surprise gift basket of fruit. Must've weighed 15 pounds. I was touched. I consider the Jail staff an extension of my family. My boss has been a very helpful sweetheart thru all this, too. Gotta extend thanx to him. But I especially appreciate the well-wishes from the EnosVerse as always. Many of you have been thru far worse than my simple broken arm.
Youngeyes
Glad to hear it went well. There is nothing "simple" about a broken arm. Rest up and get well soon.

ima45dv8
We don't usually move threads from the Hate forum so they can stay open, but for SigLady, we make an exception. Get well soon, Lady!
SiG Lady
Ah, I've been given revised status. Thank you kindly. Meanwhile, the X-rays: They're not clear enough to see the fractures, but the radius hardware piece is certainly the star of the show here. ima45dv8
You f*#king rock! Kids half your age (20 or so) would be crying a BlueStreak over such a malady.
Miranda
I going to quote flex from many years back, "woulda killed most men" you are a brave soul Siglady. oh that looks painful. miranda
SiG Lady
Oh, that's much better (the system was not letting me post yesterday . . .) Well, my MIND is "crying a blue streak" every time I have to try and do something that should only take 30 seconds and it takes 3 minutes or more. Gah!! Wrestling with getting dressed is the worst. Yes it's a bit painful, but I kinda expected that.
Steve RA
Will the hardware stay, or be removed later ??
SiG Lady
I believe it's permanent.
Miranda
I used to read a lot. (nowadays I tend to skim.) I recall that when such bone repairs were new, the thinking was the docs thought they'd go back in to retrieve. and that caused more complications from chipped bones and infections. I had a friend who rode motorcycles and he had a messed up wrist (I assumed a bike accident but I don't know for certain) he had a sorta ladder thing attached to his forearm. it had about 6 posts going into the bones to hold it while it knit. It looked unreal, and thus not painful to look upon. He said all was good until he forgot and whacked it on a door. back to the quote about the pain woulda killed a normal man. things to avoid include falling, I do not want to be as brave as Siglady. heal quickly. miranda
SiG Lady
People now tend to live with a variety of stabilizing implants. I think many of them are meant to be permanent. I just need to be increasingly careful where I step, how I step, and take NO chances whatsoever anymore with ambulation.
