Shadow Mag Catch Screw

What is the best way to loosen the mag catch screw on shadow 2 to make a 2 o'clock adjustment?  I have tried a torx wrench with no success, almost have stripped the screw.  Please help

Try heating it up just a little first. Mine was crazy tight.

What a good way to heat? On or off gun

Use a flame, like a lighter, but only get it close to the side of flame, not above. Leave mag release on gun, it'll give you more leverage when unscrewing it.

For breaking free small screws I’ve heard of people taking a soldering iron and touching it to the screw to heat it up as opposed to using an open flame, like a lighter. The soldering iron better directs the heat were you need it.

 

As recommended keep the mag release in the frame for leverage purposes.

I used a heat gun to loosen the screw. Still took quite a bit of effort after applying a generous amount of heat. Changed position and applied blue threadlocker.  All done on gun.

^ This is exactly what I did with mine.  About 90 seconds with the tip inserted in the center of the torx.  Firm pressure and mine came right out. It was scary tight as well.  This works well with small parts due to the localized heat.
