wingnut
I have an spo1 and a Shadow 2 witch one would you mill for carry optc.
selecw
Neither. I'd buy an additional SP01 slide and mill that. That way if you ever sell the gun you won't lose money on it.
TommyK
Very hard to make the 45oz. weight restriction with the Shadow 2. I have seen 1 example on the CZ Forum that made weight but by less than 1/2oz. I went with the SP-01, had it milled and worked on by Cajun. It is a very nice setup and I am happy with it. Still searching for that "dang dot" sometimes but I think I'll be ready by the spring. I too have a Shadow 2, would have liked to have had it milled but was afraid of getting bounced to Open at a major match.

dogtired
You really need to look at CZ Customs optic milling for the SP01. Plate system allows you to run multiple optics or drop a rear sight plate in it and be production legal. I bought a second slide but happy enough with the result I would mill the original slide if I could do it over.
OPENB
I think it only works on Shadow models because it is milled so deep it cuts into the FP block. Won't work on the regular SP01. Shadows seem to be running more than Shadow 2's price wise.
dogtired
I have a Shadow, should have mentioned that. I just assumed everyone did.
Blue Jacket
They can mill an standard SP-01, I have a multi cut on mine. Milling did cut into the FPB channel. However, the dot keeps it in. Haven't had any issues with the FP spring or plunger coming out.
OPENB
I see my confusion. If you want to be able to put the rear sight plate on for production, it has to be a Shadow model, not a firing pin block gun.
dogtired
It would probably work for either. Give CZ Custom a call or hopefully Stuart will stop by.
rowdyb
i just got a SP01 Shadow slide with the CZC optic cut and plate system. I like it far better than the old set up I had of a dovetail mount for the optic.

Are the base pads CZ on the CZ 18 tube? Is a new spring necessary? Thanks!
rowdyb
Those are 17rnd mecgar tubes with the long base pad. also CZC spring and follower to get me to 23 rounds.
wingnut
What about the 16 mecgar CZ long pads what CZ spring and follower.
DesertTortoise
Grams spring and follower alone (no new basepad) gets you 20 rounds on the stock 18rd magazine
OrondoShooter
I have a P01 with a DPP, so it pulls double duty as both my CO and CC gun. I'd recommend finding a second slide to mill, albeit, it might be neigh-high as CZ doesn't sell frames and slides separately.
