Removing slight abrasion of hard chromed sides?

   The Limited I just picked up has a slight abrasion on one of the brushed sides. Any suggestions for buffing/blending it in without hurting the good chrome? I thought maybe a non-abrasive type Scotch-Brite chased with a polish might do the trick?

I’ve had bad luck fixing things on chromed finishes that I’ve given up. I’d leave it; it adds character. Kydex isn’t suppose to mar the “Wonderfinish” but I got faint lines already.

Very little success touching up chrome.

 I asked the chrome experts APW. They said green Scotch Brite with the grain.

Chrome finish is very thin to start with... don't do it, you will only gonna make it worse.

Grey and white Scotch Brite are finer than green.

  I would not do it. But if I did, a buffing wheel with light polishing compound is where I would start.

Add me to list of 'don't do it.'   Let's see how bad it looks. 

 

I have touched up brushed stainless guns with a grey 3M blending pad, but don't know that I'd do that for hard chrome.

 I I know at some point in the past I touched one up with similar mark with no problem. It's 6 more days until I get it out of gun jail.

I wouldn’t do it either.

Beat the rest of the gun up until it all blends in.

 

Shiny guns aren’t interesting. The well used tools are.
