Converting 38 Super to 38 Super Comp

Morning Everyone,

I have about 7,000+ rounds of 38 super comp and an offer for a new 38 super open gun. What must be done to convert the 38 super to 38 super comp?

Usually nothing

Several of my open guns shoot both with out anything being done.

Worse case

change extractor , most use an AFTEC (two different ones for 38s and 38sc)

Work mags lips "if needed" for the non rimmed/semi rimmed case

 

Should work with out a lot of messing around

Depends on the gun. SV uses different breechfaces for super and super comp.

Does sv use a 38 sc breech face or a 9mm

9mm for SC in at least my pistols. They have a few diffrent 9mm sizes too.

I have an sv ibf slide and I use the 9mm BF for Comp. I have weird issues every now and then.  I got this gun used so i wasn’t sure the 9 BF was correct. The gun has never had a stoppage but 2-3 pieces out of 300 have their case mouth chewed up.
