benny hill
They need work to be able to keep up to the light custom guns, lighter slide, better safty's, better trigger, etc.
shred
Once they get that, that Max fellow does OK with his.
Julien Boit
They are nice pistols. I have one that I hybridized like Max Michel's. I think I will lighten the slide sooner or later. Put an Allchin mount with blast shield, slide racker, and it's Ok.

GeneralChang
Trust me, max is not shooting a factory tru-bore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I overheard him talking to Chris Schirmer at Doubletap Championship and I thought he was ordering a new gun from STI. Who does all of the other custom work for him? Oops, thread drift
Azone41
His guns are built by a team of Army gunsmiths. His ammo is loaded for him also. I have seen a TV special on it and I know the guy that just went PCS there to be commander for the Army shooting team. He told me that they have drawers full of parts (frames, slides, and anything else you could want) and a whole room full of Dillon 1050s with privates loading ammo. shred
Funny, Max -n- Travis usually arrive with a carton of ammo loaded by one of the ammo loading companies.. Atlanta Arms was the last batch.. they contract for it in bulk, a years supply at a time. Likewise while their team blasters are officially maintained by the AMU, some IPSC-specialist smiths manage get their fingers in there too. Azone41
Shred The special I saw on the AMU never talked about Max or Travis but it showed these guys weighing every bullet in a carton and then loading them on 1050s. The rest I heard from a master class shooter that shot at Doubletap. He just went to the AMU from Ft Sill. He said the setup there was awesome and the gunsmiths asked him what kind of gun he was already shooting when he told them, they told him we will build you a better one. Larry White
The AMU has at diffrent times contracted with well known pistolsmiths for guns. EGW built several some years ago and Benny built 6 open guns and 6 limited guns a few years ago. Travis was shoothing a Benny gun at the Miss. 3 gun last year. I dont think they have any shortage. They also have bought carloads of 38SC and 40 from various vendors. Takes a lot to keep mags full for those boys.-----Larry
