chuckstur
Twice now, I have found that the sear spring has moved or tilted such that the left leg fell off the sear. (I can duplicate this with sloppy assembly) I searched the forum and found that I am not alone, but no clear fix was identified. Any help out there? Trent1k1
Make sure your upper grip screws are tight and the grip is properly aligned.
stardust tommy
Dawson has dedicated 2011 searsprings bending the 90° lip on the bottum to 45° sets the spring a little higher on the sear (heat the lip before bending)
Powder Finger
peen the side of the spring just below the leafs on the left side
Tripod
What Powder Finger said. I use a punch and make two dimples along the left edge below the leafs. Or more recently used shrink wrap used for insulating electrical connections and put it around spring below the leafs and above the hook at bottom. Heated it to shrink and the sear spring is aligned. Bob DuBois
Use a small piece of sheet aluminum flashing to make an L shaped shim. install under the base of the spring no wiggle, stays tight.
chuckstur
Thanks folks.... So the peening causes the left leaf to bend inward, the heat shrink centers the spring in the opening, and the metal shim forces it to the right? C
