Alderleet
So heres a hell of a conundrum: -i got my springs in today, and fitted everything into my LimPro. -using stock hammer/disco until funds allow bolo/titan. -installed 13lbs hammer spring -assemble -will not cock back because hammer canno t drop low enough to clear the slide. I noticed the PD hammer spring was long as hell, but in this case its actually stacking in the hammer pin channel, and physically disallowing my hammer come back far enough the slide to even cock back. Has anyone else had this, and how have you proceeded in this case?
B_RAD
Are you sure your not trying to install a hammer spring for a cz? I wouldn't call a PD hammer spring long so,... Just wondering? That are you're trying to install a FP spring in where the hammer spring goes? Can you post pics? Edited October 20, 2017 by B_RAD
bulm540
Accdg to pd , some tangfoglio pistols have a short spring pocket. I cut 1 coil and all is well. Edited October 20, 2017 by bulm540
Alderleet
The hammer spring channel looks to be too short for the length of the patriot defense spring. At full hammer compression, the spring is already maxxed out and has no more compressable room. Its probably only a millimeter too long (at full compression) to prevent the slide from cycling. Thanks for the tip. I snipped a coil off and now all is well. Its a little bewildering to have to trim a spring to fit.
OPENB
I had to do the same thing with my LimPro.

Its a little bewildering to have to trim a spring to fit. I have read about the manufacturing variances of tanfoglios ( CNC programmers had too much chianti the night before) and I am not surprise. My older one had a longer spring pocket and I didn't have to trim the spring. Edited October 20, 2017 by bulm540
MacLethal
The varying tolerances baffles me on these guns. That is part of the reason it took so long to get grips to the market. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
johnbu
Fyi. installing the spring strut backwards will hang the hammer up too. Edited October 20, 2017 by johnbu

That’s because you’re used to other manufacturers, who can get a simple hole to be the same depth in all of their frames.

You make it sound easy! It's pretty hard after a couple bottles of Chianti.
