XDM Competition Trigger job for IDPA SSP

Recommended Posts

I acquired a XDM 5.25 Competition in 40 s&w

What is the best mix of parts to keep it IDPA SSP legal?

I would love to put a PRP trigger in it but I know its a no go for SSP.

Don't bother with saying stick the PRP trigger in it and run ESP.

I have a dedicated Range Officer for esp that took me to ESP Master.

I will be doing the trigger job myself. I have completed many CZ's and 1911's.

Took it apart last night and did some polishing and replaced the striker indicator and striker safety with Powder rivers Titanium.

I'm waiting on the calibration spring pack.

Now for some welding on the trigger bar and stoning the sear

To keep the external appearance "stock", grab one of Scott's trigger bar kits.  It uses the OEM trigger and its adjustments for pre- and over-travel are all internal.  Great product!

Question:  Why can't you use the PRP trigger?  I thought that there was a run of factory guns that came with the PRP as a factory option....  That's why it's legal in USPSA.  (Mind you, I quit following IDPA Rulebooks after Change # 114,392,714.)

The prp trigger is good for ESP but not for SSP.

Parts must come from the factory. Custom shop installed parts are not legal  in SSP oh the joys of IDPA

The parts were not custom just tuned by Springfield, does that still constitute a foul?

Wrong - the PRP Trigger uses a Springfield part. I have shot it in SSP including major matches for 3 years.

I don't know if they change the rules lately or not but the PRP is not legal in SSP only ESP.  The rule was if you can see it, it is not legal.  I had to change my trigger from PRP to Springer.  I liked both triggers.
