dennisp5
I am slowly building a 9mm ar that I just put in a YHM 9mm buffer. The bolt still travels 1/2" past the bolt stop. Is this too far? I don't want to break the bolt stop. Thanks Dennis Link to comment
Flatland Shooter
If you don't mind pre-loading the recoil spring, you can stack enough quarters inside the buffer tube to shorten the stroke. I put in just enough quarters that the bolt will clear the bolt catch by a 1/4" or so. This allows me to lock back the bolt during unload and show clear. My main match PCC has over 7000 rds through it without a single broken bolt catch. If locking back the bolt is a feature that is not needed, you can add a few more quarters and shorted the stroke even more. Bill Link to comment
MrPostman
I have 6 quarters in mine with the Blitzkrieg hydraulic buffer and smalley spring. Super short stroked lol, bolt catch does not work at all. I have a chamber flag so who cares right? Link to comment
