Tips on dealing with "sun over berm"

For targets you have to look directly east while the sun just comes over the berm, what are your successful mitigations to avoid losing the FO in the smoke (coated bullets) and bright light?

Whatever you do don't look directly into the Sun.

I was watching the eclipse, the other day, and since then my accuracy has gone to hell in a hand basket.

I bring a 100rd box of 124 FMJs with N320 behind them to majors for exactly this situation. Almost no smoke.

 

In 2008, a friend was loading titegroup under coated bullets and absolutely tanked a stage due to the blackpowder-like cloud in front of him. Back then I only shot FMJ.

 

When I switched to coated, that lesson still wasn't lost on me.

It is a bad situation.  Dark glasses, pull the hat down real low in front.  I have thought of changing target order to help,

but once the clock hits, that plan goes out the window.  Vhit is definitely less smokey.
