CHLChris
125gr Leatherhead RN, Titegroup 3.7gr, Federal 100 or Winchester SP, 1.125" OAL This Titegroup recipe is soft, and Titegroup meters exceptionally evenly. 3.7 on every throw, even with just a standard Dillon powder bar. At only 3.7gr per round, Titegroup makes your powder money last a long time.

wingnut
3.4 gave me 134 PF. Loading 1.125. Going to chrono again tomorrow. Drop down to a 10 lb recoil spring felt good right back on target.
EddieCrispo
Curious as to what you use to load 9mm minor. I've used solo 1000 for a lot of years with good results. Now that I'm almost out and can't find it, I' looking for a replacement. I use shilouette. 124grn 9mm. Shoots way soft in my open gunSent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Darrell
I'm using Tightgroup with coated bullets and HP-38 for Jacketed. 3.8 gr Tightgroup behind Bayou 120 TCG @ 1.060, .3785 crimp on all my 9mm's. 4.3 gr HP-38 behind Precision Delta 124 JHP @ 1.085, also use 4.8 N340 and 5.4 Power Pistol with same bullet. Power factor is 130 to 142 with these loads and very accurate (less than 1.5" at 15 yds 10shots)

Red Ryder
WST - too Temp sensative (any Winchester powder) Titepoop _ too hot and dirty and snappy, Not bulky enough IMR 7625 Temp sensative, less than WST though- but discontinued ( but I have 24lbs) Solo 1000 - discontinued VV N320 BEST. Not Temp sensative, negligable lot to lot variation, good bulk. Not smokey, Meters extremely well. 4.2 to 4.3 Grains with a 124 CMJ grain Montana Gold bullet OAL 1.135. 3.5 to 3.6 grains with a 135 grain Bayou Bullet or SNS casting OAL 1.135. 3.2 to 3.3 grains with 147 Grain flat point Bayou bullet OAL 1.135. 3.5 to 3.7 Grains with a 147 CMJ Montana Gold bullet OAL 1.135. Use the lower end for a Gen 3 G34 and the upper end for an STI Edge 9mm. All these loads make a 130 to 132 PF. The point is, when you find a powder that you like, buy a shit ton, and stick with it. Focus more on shooting and less on reloading.
SeattleDude
4.1gr of VV N320 under 124gr JHP PD at 1.150 OAL makes 128pf out of my Atlas Titan

stick
Another vote for Titegroup. It's inexpensive, readily available, accurate and meters extremely well in Dillon XL650. It's all I use for 9mm

Steve RA
Australian Clays is excellent, however if you don't have a stash of it you are out of luck as it's not available any longer. I haven't tried the Canadian Clays as I have quite a bit of the earlier variety.

the_t0ny
I currently load 3.9gr titegroup under a xtreme 124gr rn at 1.140 oal with a Winchester primer. Makes about 130 pf out of my glock 34 with a kkm barrel.
mgrs
Currently, 3.8 of WST with a 124gr coated or 4.0 with a 125gr plated at 1.15 for either. I'm over it though due to the crazy temperature swings that come with seasons...like 10 or more PF. I think I'm going to try E3 next as the word is that it is pretty stable. LukeWL
Why would you want a slower burning for major but faster for minor? I’m just starting reloading and shooting a g17 for now but plan to buy an open gun after I shoot for a while.
Hi-Power Jack
6 hours ago, LukeWL said: Why would you want a slower burning for major but faster for minor? Faster powders use very little powder, and produce less perceived recoil, especially with heavier bullets. Slower powders use much more powder, and produce much more gas, which makes the compensator work better. You might want to go back in the archives and read some old postings under reloading 9mm. But, I actually like Clays over Titegroup because it shoots noticebly softer. Both are pretty accurate with 147gr RN plated. I concur, it does shoot softer but I can't stand the way it meters out. Like dog poo.???
