CZ173
are you going to try and figure out the right spring?
OPENB
I got my guide rod apart today too. A little heat was the trick. I concur that Glock springs inside diameter is too small for the stock rod, & regular 1911 springs are too big. I don't really want to spend $80 on a Springco if I can get a couple pound lighter spring to work on this rod.
muncie21
Glock springs are typically flat wound ISMI type springs. I have heard that round springs (check wolf) may fit.
sweetback
Try cutting off 2 or 3 coils from the TP9 FACTORY SPRING with a Dremel to lighten it a bit. Edited October 16, 2017 by sweetback
OPENB
After I changed the striker spring to a Glock 6#, I was able to change the recoil spring to a Glockstore tungsten rod with a 15# spring. Feels perfect now. I'll check into changing the striker plunger spring next.

I am planning to use glock 6lb or 6.5 lb fps too, as the 5.5lb has 1/100 light strike (sb primer). factory striker spring too heavy and sometime making the slide out of battery due to light recoile spring
OPENB
Right. I couldn't change the recoil spring until I changed the striker spring. Slide stays in battery with this setup.
