Right now, thinking the sandpaper/grit/aluminum oxide is the way to go with the sweat from humidity here in the Midwest. Tape cutouts don't work because I grip the piss out of the gun and end up moving the tape around on the grips. No matter how much prep I do before the install. The best I ever had was an old-school Scott grip from SV. Looking for something similar. Have seen some guy, Vince Pesuti on Nils FB page but had no luck finding contact info. Anyone have a lead or suggestion OTHER than "do it yourself"? I don't currently have time or interest in DIY for grips right now. Any help is appreciated! cheers623! 36873687 Posted June 22, 2017 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Try victorious skate tape. I been using since September last year. The hard chrome gun has been on since then an it has PT ss grip. More aggressive than PT aggressive believe it or not. I use the glue from Dawson precision an it hasn't moved any. Think Amazon is we're I got victorious skate tape they make 3 types but black is most aggressive. The skaters has some videos of it on utube. Heating the tape to (not totally sure) but maybe 125-150 degrees makes the plastic more malleable, makes the glue more active, and makes any air trapped under the tape less dense so when it cools the molecules contract and shrink. You can also slide the tape easier and push out any air bubbles. basically the opposite of trying to put it on when it's frozen. You will get a much better bond if you heat it and plasticize the glue. if you life in that hot of an area, maybe think about covering your gun between shooting so the sun doesn't do the slams thing. also maybe try an epoxy type glue or one that is two part with catalyst and hardener. I don't have experience with it on grips myself and is probably a bad idea because it won't soften with heat to remove it but at the same time, it will not move in you. just an idea Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's available on Amazon and other websites but the problem is that black is out of stock (it's even out of stock on the manufacturer's website). The video I sat through mentioned "Madrid Thumb Cutter" grip tape as equivalent to Vicious and that was available on Ebay so I bought some. Doesn't seem very economical (either brand) compared to other grip tape: looks like you get 4 10x11" squares for about $22 as compared to regular grip tape at around $5-$7 for a sheet big enough to cover a skateboard (which I think is about 10x33"). Price doesn't much matter to me because I only shoot on weekends so as long as it's semi-durable I shouldn't be burning through the stuff. More interestingly, the video I watched talked about cleaning grip tape: a product called "Grip Gum" was recommended as was whatever it is that is used to clean belt sanding belts. Towely Posted July 1, 2017 Share Posted July 1, 2017 If you prep the grip correctly it wont peel off. It needs to be cleaned with alcohol thoroughly and heated up, i use a fan heater to heat the grip and the grip tape cut out and then apply it, work the air out of it and massage it on, while heating it of course. Then roll the edges with the shaft of a screw driver or similer, that seals it. You can do it with the frame on but its easier if its completely stripped down. Try and find the coursest tape you can get. Getting solvents and oils on the grip will reduce it to mush and it will lift so you have to be careful when cleaning. I change mine every 3 months and its a pain but it gives you a fresh new grip at the end of it. The permanant silicon carbide jobs wear down just like the tape jobs, but theres not alot you can do about it once it does.
