You know your a super senior when you have to put on your electronic ear muffs to hear the stage briefing.

That was a great one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started shooting whatever it was called back then in 1979.  Everything was leather and we all shot 1911's,

mostly Colt with H&G 68 bullets (200 gr SWC, they did make great holes) with Win 231 Powder and 18 1/2 #

recoil springs.  Most of us made our own Bullets, using Plumbers Lead, Wheel Weights and Line-O-Type.  Had

our own formula and sources for the stuff.  The test was if you could not score the bullet with your thumbnail

it was hard enough to shoot.  God only knows what our Lead Levels were back then.  But it was fun............

I started in 86 at the Nationals in Dallas, still about the same then, Ernie Hill leather and H&G 200 gr semi wadcutters.  Still 19lls but wasn't long until comps began to spring up.

I started in '88 with a BHP, and quickly switched to 1911 with 200 gr SWC's and W231.

But, yeah, those "gamers" with their 10-shot .38 supers ruined it all.     :surprise:

Yep, you can tell you are an old timer when ....  John Shaw was there and he had just won some big championship.  I had to borrow brother in law pistol, crossdraw still allowed so I shot it that way.  Back home with a little time I realized I was faster on the hip but I still have it.

When you realize that medical condition known as "trigger finger" is NOT a good thing to have on your actual trigger finger.

And it takes 10 minutes while everyone is rolling on the floor laughing before you realize it.
