af220wa
I'm trying to compile load data for Ramshot Silhouette. I've seen many threads that mention it so I thought I'd start one for Silhouette only to make it easier to follow. Please post your favorite Silhouette loads and make sure to include bullet type/mfg, weight, grains of powder, velocity and any other data you have like temperature as I've heard this powder is temp. sensitive. I'll be posting my first try next week with the following: 9mm (major) 7.8 grains Berry's 124g HBRN, heavy plated 1.16 OAL Velocity: tbd Temp: tbd (outdoor) Chrono Type: LabRadar Gun: CK 2011 - 5" with 2 popple holes and Bedell 3-Port (MaxComp) Titanium Compensator I really like how this powder meters and so far has been the most consistent of all powders I've used. Could be because it is so small and harder to clog but I like loading with it. We'll see what the chrono says. I'm worried about the temperature sensitivity however since I tend to cut it close at the chrono table.
moparnut88
I'm running 8.7grns with 115g coated with a 1.158 oal out of a 5" STI with a bedell comp and 2-3/16" popple holes. Runs about 1500-1550 depending on the day. I've also ran serveral thousand mg115 with this same recipe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bamboo
For 38 Super: (through 5.4" schuemann barrel with three ports) Silhouette @ 8.3gr 124gr MG JHP at 1.235", or MG FMJ/CMJ at 1.250" oal Tula or Win SRP, or CCI SPP 1392 fps avg = 172pf I like 124 grainers better than 115 grain bullets with this powder in 38 super. Accurate, and shoots well with no pressure signs.

ShortBus
@af220wa why is is there such a dramatic difference between the first shot and last? It looks like the first run of 115 grain bullets got slower as you shot and the second run they got faster? Whats the deal

Kirkster
new data for the thread. Just got done a round of ladder testing for Silhouette in my CZ checkmate. the chamber throat is short right now so theses were loaded at around 1.130 inches since they fail the plunk test around 1.135 or so. Not sure why my gun had the SD shoot up at 8.0 grains.. But would definitely look at shooting this around 8.1 or 8.2 grains for a match. Kirkster
New data. Just did some more testing for Silhouette in my czechmate. Had the barrel throat reamed so I can now load out to 1.175. These were done at 1.160 My old load at 7.9 grains with the longer OAL and also changed the weight to 124 precision delta. Full spreadsheet attached.
