Shadow 2 for carry optic?

Recommended Posts

Shadow 2, 46.5oz on CZ-USA website.

Carry optic rule, 45oz weight limit.

With CZC slide cut(with rear sight removed), polymer guide rod, lighter grips, can we make shadow2 under 45oz?

You need to remove at least 4.5 oz of weight.  The only way would be to remove significant chunks of metal from every possible area (shortened dust cover, lightening cuts in the slide, etc), but that would bump it to Open due to external mods.

Good info.  So which CZ is preferred for CO?

Accu shadow my best guess . They may bump up the weight limit next year to allow Stock II/III.

I had a shadow slide milled to slap onto my accushadow. It still only weights around 42 oz ish with an empty mag.

Sure about that, a year later? :D

I was right though, that simply that slide cut for the optic wouldn't be enough. CZC removes more weight from two other places in the slide to get you even close and you're still juggling grips, base pads and maybe guide rod.

Polymer guide rod is a necessity. Question will be if CZ thinks it's okay to weigh it with the standard 17 round mags with polymer pads, which would make making weight simple.

We cut the slide with enough reduction that you can run a DPP, heaviest dot. ,CZC ext pad and no other changes and be under 45 ounces.
