Petty BS. And they wonder why they get some of the grief they do! The vast majority of us rarely if ever have direct contact with 5-O. It only takes one bad experience....

99% of the time when I get pulled over it's legit, and I have no problem accepting whatever the officer decides, I rarely pulled over and even more rare to get a ticket.

 

After it was over my shooting buddies immediately commented on, the fact that he knew why we were there, and how unprofessional he was.

If they have been trained properly, this simply isn't true.  The decision is supposed to have been made, prior to the contact, based on the severity of the violation.  

I believe this is part of the unfortunate migration from peace officer to LEO.
