usmc90
After installing a new magwell onto my 2011 my Dawson tooless magazine bases now hit inside of the magwellast not seating well. What my course of action to fix this?? Do I Dremel the magazine base or the inner part of new magwell?
scooterj
Can you keep a nice smooth surface on the magwell after dremeling? I wasn't willing to try that. I removed material from the base pads.

xrrcr
I am running the same set up and found this out. By switching to a Para mag catch it moved the mags down a bit. The problem fixed itself on the ACT mags and the Para mags just required a little cleanup on the rear outside corners to work good.
usmc90
I'm running the MecGar para p18 mags with Dawson tooless magazine bases. Is the para mage release that different internally? Edited February 23, 2017 by usmc90

ScottieShootz
Honestly, if you like the magwell, I'd blend it to the frame and open up the section a bit that is knocking on the basepads. Other option is to grind back the edge of all your basepads, but then all of them will have bare metal. Or try the mag release that was suggested further up to see if it fixes the problem. CHA-LEE
Take a file to the outer edges of the base pad to make clearance. I wouldn't suggest changing the magazine release to change the height of the magazine in the gun as that will change how the rounds feed. The ultimate solution would be to switch to MBX mags as their base bad would be well out of the way.
