Maxamundo
Has anyone done a test on the muzzle velocities with identical ammo through a stainless or cerakoted stretch 16 vs a melonited stretch 16? Wondering if the supposed reduction of friction on the melonited versions yield any velocity increases.
sniperfrog
Usually when there is a reduction in friction it causes lower pressures which will reduce velocity. Moly coated bullets would have a slight drop in velocity because of this. comparing just one barrel of each won't give you any real data. I've seen stainless barrels from the same manufacturer with the same length, chamber, ammo, etc, and they can give significantly different velocities. Barrels are weird like this. What variations in those barrels do you think might account for the velocity differences?
