lowball020
What advantages would they have over regular mags with extended base pads? Just wondering if I'm missing something.
Twinkie
They might cost more and be more shiny?
kneelingatlas
There's no commercially available 171.25mm mag from Tanfoglio, there is from MBX
TMcGowan
I use the 170 for open and factory mags with Henning extensions for my 140. Beats welding two factory mags up. I get 28 in 9 major could probably get 29 if it was in supercomp. Edited February 3, 2017 by TMcGowan

Only thing that would be a plus is the spring not getting bound up occasionally.
hwansikcjswo
Also it feels different when you grip the mag for reloading.I like MBX style better than Henning style big basepads. Another difference is that MBX mags don't lock the slide open at the last shot. Edited February 5, 2017 by hwansikcjswo

I'm not all that concerned with the slide lock as I have a pin vs the slide release because my grip rides it up while I'm shooting. I thought about the feel, as my pinky has been crushed on more than one occasion between the magwell and basepad.
KelsonAK
The only reason I am considering the mbx 140's is due to an occasional issue with the extensions being a jam point. Have had it happen once or twice that a round gets lodged at the joint of the extension and the magazine goes dead. The 170mm magazine has been fantastic in testing.
