v1911
Looking to purchase dies for loading .223 and I have a question about my configuration. I found that it's more cost effective to go with a carbide .223 die set and a steel trim die for the rt 1200 than it is to go with a steel die set and carbide trim die. Is there something I'm missing that would make it beneficial to run the carbide trim die? I can't afford to go carbide on both the die set and trimmer die so I'm trying to see what would be the best combo for my budget.
dillon
Seeing that you trim once every two or three firings, your plan makes sense. The carbide dies were originally intended for commercial customers, who may load upwards of a million rounds a year, I would expect a lifetime of use for the typical shooter of a steel trim die.
