Taran Tactical Basepad Question

Installed Taran Tactical Base pads on S&W 17 round magazine so I can get 23 rounds in it.  I must be doing something wrong, as I can only get 18 rounds in the magazine.  Looked at photo's, read installation instructions on web site, have the spring in the correct orientation.  Need any assistance that can be provided Thanks.

This might sound a bit odd, but if you have something like an uplula . . . try "wiggling" the uplula as you try to get past the 18th round. I found that the spring sometimes catches on something on the inside.

You need to taper the lower edges of the follower legs. (I use a sanding block and 100 grit paper) TT talks about this on their site, I also filed off the sharp edge on the inside edge of the base pad. Whats happening is the follower is getting stuck on the top edge of the pad.

I will look at this very carefully.  Probably correct.  I will try to find where TT discusses this.  Thanks.

Yeah it happened to me the first time I tried loading a mag with the TTI 140 bases. Stopped solid at 18 rounds, looked at the website, saw the thing about trimming the follower and beveling the base. Looked closely at the plastic legs on the follower and could see where it was catching on the base. After that I made sure I counted the rounds going in, I can always feel the legs jumping past the base at round 19. (don't use those mags anymore, I switched over to STI so the M&P is the wife's gun now)
