Cold I trim the bottom of the grip, and use them on my TS?

yep but you'd effectively be moving the swollen part downward.

I copied from you and made it through a match yesterday with no issues for the first time. 

Still had to initially tighten things up past my comfort level to get zero play.

From the responses it looks like some of the grips fit well enough that all the screw has to do is hold them in place, rather than provide enough friction to prevent them tilting back and forth. 

I think my next phase is to try something like a thin strip of grip tape glued at the area of contact between grip an frame.
