Fixed Magnification Optic For Scoped Tactical

I realize there has been a lot of discussion on 3 gun optics and it seems the variables are very popular. I would like to here from anyone using a fixed power optic ( 3x to 4x range) as their main optic. Specifically I am looking at optics similar to the IOR 4x24 with a lit CQB reticleM2. ACOG users please chime in. I guess I am also trying to find out how often those using the variables are actually "variabilizing".

Thanx, Craig

Running a TA-11 with JP close range iron sights. Love the combo. Shot three matches with it now. Only problem I had was with the transitions on the closer targets that were spread out with the TA-11 due to fov (did not have confidence in the JP iron sights and were not using them effectively.) However, I'm more comfortable with the JP irons now. I'm learning where I can get away with the irons (faster/large fov) and where I need to transition to the TA-11 and vise versa. Definetly takes some getting use to. Practice and match experience, like anything else, is the key. I really like the ability to go from hoser to precison targets in a stage without having to adj. magnificaiton. The KISS principle works for me I guess.

I run a TA11F with a Butler Creek scope cover over the objective. Up close, I close the cover and use the scope as an OEG. I'm as fast with this as I am with a red dot. For longer shots (100 yards and over) I open the objective and use the 3.5x.

My next ACOG will be a TA31. I want to compare it and see which one I like better.
