anbrumm
Has anyone seen this holster in person? Looks like it was recently launched. Any idea when retailers will start carrying them?Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
Edge40
I wish they would stop coming out with new stuff. Now I need a new holster lol. The only saving grace is it looks like it uses the race master blocks.
TennJeep1618
I could be wrong, but I believe they were in stock for a short time on Double Alpha's website. Or maybe they just announced them being on the website, but they're not in stock yet.

ScottieShootz
So, is this better than the Racemaster holster? I haven't been able to figure out where in the product line this holster sits.

Kingman
As a DaA dealer we can't buy them yet. I was told mid November. I don't even have pricing yet. It it uses the same mechanism as the race master.

ScottieShootz
This is one of those items that I want, but don't need as my racemaster is perfectly fine. My only gripe is the arm that hangs down for the height adjustment can dig into my leg at times, which this would fix.
attakmint
One of the problems I've had with my Race Master is that under the weight of a pistol and the NC heat, the set screws would work themselves loose as I walk around a match. How secure are the connections for this holster?
attakmint
And for what it's worth, I've been applying purple (low strength, lower than blue) Loctite on my screws.
adamge
I'm on the DAA website mailing list and a very recent email said this about the X: The Alpha-X can be Pre-Ordered online now, shipping starts Nov 18th.
attakmint
Bump. Does this one put less torque on the connection than the Racer/Race Master?

If you have your race master set up perfect I would say its not worth it unless your a total gear head and have to have the newest thing. The block in the holster in the same part so it works exactly the same. The alpha x is superior in that you can remove it from the belt and put it back without removing the hanger or losing your adjustments. This I think would be nice for traveling where you would have to pack in in a bag and were worried about damage. The other advantage is getting the holster in the perfect position. It is much easier to do this with the alpha x but if your race master is perfect there is really zero advantage there. Just remember that there is nothing different with the actual retention device its exactly the same. The heart of the holster has not changed. zipollini
I have both the Racemaster and the Alpha X. I like the Racemaster much better. The Alpha X is much sturdier but less adjustable. The Alpha X works just OK with my open gun (STI DVC open) but I like the Racemaster MUCH better for my striker fire guns. I can adjust the distance from my hip to the holster much better with the Racemaster.
