BritinUSA
I agree, the proposal was so simple, only 2-3 rules would separate Production from Production Optics 1. Allow a red dot 2. Allow +/- 5oz from original weight to cater for mounting plates, milled slots and scopes 3. The cutouts for the box, which in hindsight we don't need as only guns on the Production list are allowed. That's all USPSA had to do; Leave it like that for 2 years to gauge interest, but instead they kept moving the goalposts And now we have something that none of us asked for. CHLChris
At my sectional, level 2, match this weekend, my G17 was allowed to be up to the 45oz. Currently I don't have any weights, but I'd like to add as much forward weight as possible. I'm planning on going to a tungsten guide rod. Anybody using anything else in the dust cover? Is there enough room for a layer or two of the lead tape suggested by @JAFO ? I'd love to add another 5-10oz. But putting it in the magazine doesn't seem like it would help nearly as much as in the front of the gun.
mactiger
The weight item mentioned in the CO appendix was a typo and has been corrected. The maximum weight limit for Carry Optics Division is 45 ounces. This was the weight limit used for the recently completed CO Nationals. http://uspsa.org/document_library/2016/APPENDIX D7_DNROI_2.pdf
