Put 150 rds of my crap reloaded ammo through it.........no problem. Put about 100 rds of gov contract frangible ammo through it and no bueno. DocMedic
What's it doing with frangibles? FTF, FTE, FTL?
konkapot
I press the trigger and get what seems like a light strike. Primary malf clearance typically resulted in a FT extract. Get it sorted out and there's no strike on the primer. Happened 13 times out of about 150 rds. I've shot a ton of frangible over the years and never had problems with it. My assumption was that if it ran on my reloads it should be fine. I get a "sense" that the round is not going fully into battery, hence the lack of firing pin mark on the primer. Rookie
Light hammer spring? Hard (mil) primer caps?
konkapot
Factory hammer spring and silver primers. The frangible ammo runs grrrreat in any/all pistols.
DocMedic
From my experience frangibles run a longer Ogive on the bullet, you might be hitting the lands of the barrel before the bullet seats. With CZ pistols your OAL usually is a lot shorter then most pistols not sure if that's true with the scorpion.
konkapot
Shoot 250 rounds today of my reloads and some factory 147jhps. Ran like a monkey driving a stolen car. Guess it doesn't like frangible ammo.
TA338
Scorpion has a firing pin block and if the bolt stays a little bit open the block prevents the firing pin from working properly.Sounds like the freebore of the barrel is too tight for the frangible bullets. A gunsmith can open it up easily if that is the problem.
ryan45kim
First make sure the frangible ammo is fully chambering. If it is my next guess would be primers. A lot of frangible ammo use lead free primers, these can be hard to set off. Does the frangible go off with a second or third strike?
