forrest
I don't know if my question belongs in reloading or in Glock questions...you decide. I'm loading 4.0 grns of Bullseye behind a 200 grn H&G style lead bullet. Moderate load..Problem is, it won't cycle my G30. Seems like it should work but doesn't,.Slide doesn't move far enough to extract the case. Does this seem normal to you guys? I could go hotter, but this should work. I'll look forward to your help. Thanks. Edited July 2, 2016 by forrest
Hi-Power Jack
I'm guessing this is in a .45 ACP? What kind of velocity are you getting from the 4.0 grains Bullseye? What's your OAL? Have you cleaned your extractor channel lately? Lubrication?
bowenbuilt
It takes at least 4.6 of BE to function my G30 with a 200 grain SWC.
zzt
4.0gr Bullseye under a 200gr LSWC is the classic bullseye load. It will not properly function in a 1911 with a standard 16lb recoil spring. Most 1911 bullseye shooters drop to a 14lb spring for iron sights ans 12lb for slide mounted tube red dot sights. Try a lighter recoil spring, if available. bfalcon00
Yeah my glock 36 don't like real light loads like that. Up the powder some and I bet your problem goes away. Let us know what happens.
drop45
I have a Glock 41 and have been running 4.6gr bullseye for a couple of years. Couple of months back I kicked it down to 3.8gr and the cases barely cleared the gun and fell in a nice little pile under my arms. Now I just bumped it up to 4.1 grains and gun cycles fine and brass lands a couple of feet away. This is with an all stock 41 so hopefully you may have the same results.
