Brand0nitis
Hello all! I joined up for a few reasons, the most pressing one currently is handloading.45 acp. My main handgun that I'll be loading for is a gen3 Glock 21. It has a 6" lone wolf slide and barrel set, along with connector, springs, and other neat, go fast stuff. I'll also be loading for a Kriss Vector .45 PCC, so I'd eventually like a shared round. But, for now... I picked, up 8lbs of Clays, 1000 230g RN coated lead, Winchester primers, and some cases I've gathered along the way. My goal is to run this g21 in limited (I know, I'll be out gunned in mag capacity),that being said, I need to hit major PF. What's a good place to start with those components? I've got a Lymans and Hornady book for reference, but they're not much on Clays. I'm wide open on bullet choice as well. I found a local guy that does both coated and plain lead. Thanks!!! Hi-Power Jack
Welcome aboard. Good start ... I'd click on FORUMS (top left), and then scroll down to Reloading, and then down to .45. Spend a half hour reading up on the last year's worth of discussions about reloading for the .45. That will be a great start. I'd also give some serious thought to spending $70 more, and buy a chrono to make sure that you "hit major PF" safely. Good luck with it.
Brand0nitis
Thanks Jack! I've started on my "light" reading?
Hi-Power Jack
Oh, and don't forget - probably The Most IMportant Thing to add, besides a chrono, is an In Light display so you can look into EVERY empty case to check there is powder in it, BEFORE you seat the bullet. Don't ask how I know (I have 200 rounds of ammo I have to pull because too many of them contain NO powder).

nickbfishn
Welcome. I'm new to reloading as well and I'll have to say (as someone else said earlier) get a chronograph! It will really enlighten you as it has me. Enjoy!
