Msummerf
I have the Dawson Precision Adj sights. I installed them, filed it down until it fit 40 percent of the way then tapped it in. It was very tight, then I loctited the set screw and zeroed it. It worked great for 1500 rounds or so, then I noticed my shots were off and noticed the rear sight is wiggling in the dovetail. It moves back and forth a few centimeters or so. Not sure what I did wrong but I can't afford another sight. Is there anything I can do to fix it, did I file too much on it? darkvibe
Take the set screw out, tap the sight out, put red loctite in the dovetail channel, reinstall sight and set screw with red loctite.

darkvibe
Did your sights tell you to put loctite in the dovetail channel in the instructions? The Dawson 1911 sights I just got said to do that.
Msummerf
No it didn't say to put loctite in the channel just on the set screw, does your sights adjustable or fixed?
darkvibe
Adjustable sights for my 1911. I have dawson fixed sights on my glock but don't recall what the instructions said for that.
Tino2212
the rear sight is wiggling in the dovetail. It moves back and forth a few centimeters or so.I know you guys in the USA are not using the Metric System a lot but i really can not imagine that a sight moves a few centimeters .Because that is about an inch ( 2.54 centimeter is one Inch ). SCTaylor
Tino I bet he meant millimeters but that is even quite a bit! I could see putting a small drop under the sight to lock in. Oh and send some stroopwafels my way when you get a chance. My wifes family is Dutch via Indonesia in WWII.
