m39nut
Just a quick question. If I wanted to buy a semi shotgun and only add a tube extension what would be the best option? Do any have an acceptable lifter off the shelf?
Moltke
As far as non custom shop guns go Versamax Competition is ready off the shelf.
TonytheTiger
Sounds like your looking for a 1301.
amccallister
I'm a Benelli guy myself, but if you really need an off the shelf option the 1301 is probably the best. The M3K would be my choice for a lower budget gun, but it lacks the refinement of the Italian guns.

inspector1999
I think a 1301 would be a solid choice. It was the choice I made. Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
bwikel
If you only want to add a tube and go shoot a match and not have to tinker on it get an A5.
Lead-Head
I shot a 1301 for about a year with just a tube and a hi.viz front bead added. still shooting it with a few more mods, but was pretty darn good out of the box.
Moltke
Don't know why I didn't think of this earlier but there's also the FN SLP Competition, an out of the box ready to go gun. Hot option for a couple years and now you can probably get one used and way below retail.

Religious Shooter
Just a quick question. If I wanted to buy a semi shotgun and only add a tube extension what would be the best option? Do any have an acceptable lifter off the shelf? How do you plan to reload? Load 2/4? Traditional weak hand? Or? IMO. Stoeger M3K has an acceptable lifter out the box. swordfish
Benelli m2 3gun version. http://www.benelliusa.com/performance-shop/performance-shop-m2-3gun-edition It really all depends how good of a gun you want to get. You can always just buy something and send it to my shop and we can customize it and make it 3gun ready.
MarkCO
I have about 4K through the Predator shotgun now, and it is as close as you are going to get to ready out of the box. Uses a 1301 gas system and several other good features from other shotguns. The M3K is another good one to just slap on a tube and go. None of the others people mentioned have the loading port anywhere close to ready, including the Benelli 3G version.

Benellis is better than the m3k and the JM doesn't have any at all out of the box, neither does the 1301. Dunno what a predator is
MarkCO
It is the internal work that makes loading easy, not hacking away a lot of the receiver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtzAtK07XH8
MHitchcock
Haven't had any lifter bites on my 930JM yet, but I do have a polished welded lifter on the way mainly...because I can.

Religious Shooter
The Benelli M2 3Gun Edition is $2500 retail. Calipornia price for a Stoeger M3K is $700. At that price difference the Benelli better be better than the Stoeger.

What are you saying? Take away the cost, the Benelli M2 3Gun isn't better than the M3K? If it was $700 I'd get the M2 3Gun over the M3K.
