scottlep
I help run a weekly shooting league at my local gun club. Each week we shoot random stages. There might be one Steel Challenge Stage with multiple strings w/ a throw away, One falling steel stage with a single string and one USPSA stage with a single string. I am just starting to do the scoring with PS since I am sick of doing the scores manually. I have been trying to figure out how to set up a new match where it will allow me to have mixed stages that will allow Steel Challenge type scoring, USPSA scoring, etc for different stages. The USPSA stages don't need to be scored as a percentage, time plus penalties would be fine. Just so each stage has a final time including penalties so they can be added together for overall score would be great. Can't figure it out. Looking for advice. Thanks! wgj3
You will have to settle on one means of scoring the match to make it work. As you mention, time-plus would likely be the easiest way to accomplish that. Then, in your example, you would have stage one with however many strings you wanted to record for the SC stage. I believe that you could set the device to score 4 strings and simply record each one as you go and then score the final string over the lowest of the previously recorded times. You would then get a total time for that stage. Then your falling steel stage would just be a time-plus stage with penalties added for steel misses, then your USPSA-style stage would be easiest to score with IDPA-type scoring or you could assign "penaties" for non-A hits to generate a total time for that stage. PS adds 'em all up and the shooter with the lowest total time wins.
