BrianH
You'd think if Area 51 was so 'secret' it wouldn't be there, but I found it. Vandenberg AFB was spliced right out of the map!
TriggerT
At least for my house, the Google service has WAY better detail. I can picl out our horse trailer on their pics.
Scooter
Area 51 is no secret, although I wasn't able to find it on the map. Smithsonian Air & Space magazine had a fly-by done of Area 51. They had a detailed break down of everything on the base including basketball courts, new runways, etc.

bpowe
It's easier to follow this conversation if you supply links! U2 at Beale? http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=39.126348,-...09927&t=k&hl=en The giant compass at Edwards? http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=34.949269,-...0&z=2&t=k&hl=en B1Bs at Edwards http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=34.902062,-...09927&t=k&hl=en The vehicle assembly at Kennedy Space Center is cool: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=28.585782,-...09927&t=k&hl=en Dyess AFB with lots of B1Bs http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.412275,-...09927&t=k&hl=en I found Nellis AFB, but not Area 51 (wouldn't know it if I saw it!) http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=36.243982,-...9&z=3&t=k&hl=en Somewhat less interesting, maybe, San Angelo Gun Club http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=31.433043,-...09927&t=k&hl=en I'd link to Wakals house, but someone would be sure to send ninjas or something to see him! Scooter
I didn't know you can link the maps. Very cool. Here's the range 15 minutes from my house. We shoot IPSC in the 3 bays on the north west side of the range. There's a landing zone for the skydivers just south of the 100 yard range, and yes sometimes they land down range in front of the shooters. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=38.586023,-...07522&t=k&hl=en Found Area51. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=groom+lake+n...40704&t=k&hl=en

Derek45
http://earth.google.com/ is a cool program that uses these satellite pics. You can add and subtract borders, roads, even schools, restaurants, etc.. It gives you the feeling that you can fly all over the planet. http://earth.google.com/tour/
