DJPoLo
Here's a stage diagram that I created based on an old post from benos. Is the top plate the Stop Plate? Does anyone have stage descriptions for any of the other "retired" Steel Challenge stages (Triad, Zig Zag, etc.)? -Chet
BrianH
Yep. Ask BE to recall that stage. I think he became the record holder the year they turned it into a Fun Shoot.

tightloop
Chet double trouble is simply two plates as seen in the diagram...draw and shoot each one once fast as you can... Brian and Chip Mc were about the fastest I have seen on this one..right at 1.1 or so..amazing...

Flexmoney
I think BE was a bit faster than 1.10... I have a copy of the American Steel Plates, Rules and Stages ...revised March, 1995. The listed World Record times for Double Trouble are 3.92 (4 runs), for an average of 0.98/run. It looks to me like the Double Trouble listed is not the same as that posted above (which is what BE shot). What is listed seems to be the Double Trouble that we shoot locally...8y, 18x24 plate (hit twice), 12in stop plate a foot above it.
BrianH
That's called "Double Double Trouble" around here.
Jake Di Vita
The one that Flex describes locally is shot pretty quick....the record is definitely not 1.1 as I have beaten that.
tightloop
Remember Jake that a teenager destroyed all the Steel Challenge records too....When Benos did it, 1.1 was fast indeed, but I believe that Flex is right when he says it was closer to .9+/-

Flexmoney
Yeah...it is just like a Mozambique. I just call it what it has always been called here...and what it is called in the book that I have. (which seems pretty official)
AikiDale
There you go, being officious again. Where did you get the book? I want one. Can't have too many ideas for steel matches. By the way, if you and the book call mozambique double trouble, what does the book call the two circles one above the other?
Flexmoney
an eight. (har-dee-har-har...I'll be here all week) give me a minute to study the book in the ...reading room... no such stage in the book.
AikiDale
got this from an old steel challenge site, courtesy of outerlimits: (guess I better learn how to do that sweet icon and click for the larger pic thingy. sorry)
GRD
I think there is a quick clip of BE shooting this in the intro collage on his 'Competition Reloading' video...if I remember right it looked alot faster than 1.1 - Gabe
outerlimits
have had numerous requests for the old stages, so i posted 10 or so here: http://homepage.mac.com/acog also have some nice ones yank price did for speedweek when the real challenge was in hiatus. i'll scan those and the shotgun & rifle side matches as soon as time permits and put those up as well. dirtypool40
I think I have some footage from a Lenny Magill video I bought used form Blockbussah, "How to shoot fast and accurately". Good stuff from 89 I think, Jerry, Benos, TGO, Chip, a bunch of legends.

BSeevers
That is the Double Trouble I remember. Its 2 shots and I "think" the record, imn competition was .8X or .77. I believe Brian Enos set it too. Long time ago and my memory has faded a little. Flex, that's the one Chet Whistle used to run in a little pit at Circleville. If I remember he left it set up all the time. That was before you and Steve and even before Jeff Masses.
Flexmoney
Yeah, Chet Whistle's name is on a lot of my materials. This is kinda like the IDPA vs. the USPSA versions of the El Prez. Two stages with the same name.
