optimator
I have never seen this before. I pulled some bullets to check the crimp, and I find these semi circle cuts in the base? Sorry in advance for the crappy iPotato picture. Can anyone help?
mikeyjones
Give us some more details. What was used to load them? - Press, dies, etc. How did you pull them?

That's why I was asking about equipment used.
Miranda
I put dents like that in my bullets when I hammer 'em.... and it looks like you crimp the bullets. miranda

The chuck on my hammer puller is also deforming the brass. Whew!

Too much but that's what I was checking. The Lee FCD thread had me second guessing myself enough to buy a standard Lee taper die.
MemphisMechanic
A quick check on my Lee FCD's effect on BBI coated bullets resulted in a switch back to the Dillon die here, too. Crimping the heck out of them even with the crimp collar backed out.
noylj
>My guess is they are bouncing up against the case when you whack the hammer on the floor That's it. Unless you put some cushioning in the "hammer," you'll get this every time.
