Versamax competition with the 10 round extension getting rounds stuck

The last 2 or 3 competitions my versamax competition has had issues with rounds only coming halfway out of the tube and stopping pinched by the lifter and then I need to stick my finger in and drag them the rest of the way. It will happen with various ammo brands and loads. It also will happen with any round. Could be the 3rd round or it could happen on the 8th. Doesn't happen on round 1, 9 or round 10. Anyone have any ideas? The shotgun is well lubed. I have been thinking about buying a triangle shoot sports m2 and sending this one out for work but sort of wish it worked right out of the box.

If it works without the mag extension, I would suspect the mag spring is getting hung up either a burr on the extension or existing mag tube, or the mag spring retaining dimples weren't completely removed. You are using an extended spring, aren't you? :)

They come setup for the longer tube from factory. It worked fine for 6-8 months. Seems to be a just lately kind of issue. I checked for anything that might hold up the follower or the spring. I couldn't find anything that seemed rough or out of place.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but it sure sounds like a follower problem, especially since it has worked before. If the follower is plastic, take it out and inspect it for burrs. It doesn't take much for the follower to hang up in the tube. My gun would cycle one round, hang up on the next, fire two in a row, then hang up again. I polished the mag tube and follower, then the problem went away.

It's a metal follower that comes with them from Remington. I might switch it out to a Nordic and a Nordic spring. Not too expensive of a way to go if it fixes the problem.

I think the metal follower is a Nordic. The Nordic spring will feel softer than the Remington spring, but, probably work better. When you install the spring, make sure you turn the ends down and in, so they don't drag on the mag tube, or the cap for the tube.

The tactical has a Nordic follower. My competition has an orange anodized follower. So I ordered the new hd 12+ spring and the Nordic follower for Nordic. I guess we will see if that fixes the problem.
