Dennis (CT)
Are ALL NY matches still stuck with the 10-round maximum per mag rule/law? Don't wish to drive 5 hours each way (& hotel exp.) to shoot 10-round mags. Predominantly OPEN & LIMITED shooter. Here in CT I can only Carry 10+1, but at the Ranges FILL IT. Thanks. Hi-Power Jack
I'm a bit out of date, but two years ago I got a memo from three different NY ranges NOT to show up with an 11 shot mag. I lived in NY 2 years ago, and not sure if anything has changed in the past two years, but I doubt it.
BrianKr
Is it even legal for an out of stater to legally possess a handgun in NYS? Many years ago I was told by a NYS police officer that one couldn't be under any circumstances. He also told me that it was 2 years mandatory sentence. That was in the early '70s. L3324temp
NY is 10rds even at the range. Out of state people can bring legal handguns into into the state to shoot a SANCTIONED match. Mags can only hold 10rds there is no grandfathering of older mags. If I was from out of state I'd personally avoid flying out of NYC area airports with a handgun even though it's legal. Drive in/out only. Edited April 10, 2016 by L3324temp

Nathanb
This is why everyone avoids New York. It's a shame too there are some good clubs within an hour or so of me and I refuse to step foot in New York for a match
BrianKr
Oh my word! I'm SO glad I got out of that BS area when I did! Unbelievable! And folks still continue to live there; just amazing to me. Thanx L3324.
galt11
Be happy, for a while it was only 7 in a mag and they forgot to exempt active LE and military.
