Malcolm31
Sometimes when I hit the bolt release, my M2 won't drive the bolt forward - particularly when I've run the shotgun dry and I'm using the matchsaver. It is almost as if the bolt release is "stuck" ....it doesn't depress at all. This doesn't happen every time, but it is happening more and more. Background - my m2 has a C-rums welded lifter, lightened bolt, opened loading port, extended charging handle, and extended bolt release button. The shell catch hasn't been modified except for the extended bolt release button installation. I have maybe 5,000 - 6,000 rds thru the gun. I'm wondering if I need to replace some springs? Ive never replaced any of the springs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Edited April 2, 2016 by Malcolm31
choppe
I'm hoping someone else chimes in on this one. I had this happen a couple times the other day with my M2. When I dropped a round in the gun from bolt lock, the bolt release wouldn't release the bolt. It was just like Malcom pointed out. If the round is dropped in the chamber, there's no problem. What I noticed, if the shell gets dropped on the lifter (when the muzzle is pointed down) the tip of the shell gets hung up on the metal between the chamber and mag tube. I don't know if that's enough resistance to prevent the lifter from working it's magic or something else is going on? Gun runs like a top otherwise.
