Getting hand surgery

Twenty years ago, I had CTR surgery on my right hand...hurt like hell for months...fast foward 20 years, now the left is acting up. So, surgery is getting scheduled...no shooting for quite a while...unless I can shoot strong hand only and someone does my reloads for me...

But, at least it will get fixed...and the doc doing the surgery? Is the same one from 20 years ago...

I think that doc just cut out the pain thing, and put it in your left hand as an investment on selling future surgery. You're lucky he wasn't a proctologist. No telling what would be hurting now. :surprise:

I had carpal tunnel surgery done 9/14. I guess I didn't let it go way to long, my fingers would get numb while driving, constantly moving my hand, shaking it, etc. for the better part of a year. Moderate Carpal Tunnel the neurologist said. The surgeon was a hand specialist, I guess I was in the O.R. under an hour, I don't remember a thing. A few weeks out of work and it's been good since. I guess if you knew what to look for, you could see where the incision was.

Procedures have changed a lot of the years. I think some of it now is more on the preventative side to keep the degradation to a minimum.

You may want to see a hand specialist rather than a surgeon that will do the surgery.

Sorry if this messes up the Hate Forum rules.

Two different types of surgery...one is where they do endoscopic surgery, only relieving part, which works for some, the other is they cut the entire carpal tunnel beside the median nerve and let the cartilage heal back by itself. The first kind will not help me, as it is all the nerves through the tunnel, not just the median nerve.
