Aero precision 6.5 cm upper

I haven't tried it, but the barrel alone is 79.5 ounces. :surprise:

I'm a very happy AeroPrecision customer for other items and will very likely make their receivers the basis for a future large-frame AR, but goodness gracious that barrel seems too heavy for my taste. The 22" Criterion seems more my speed. Or something else like that profile and weight.

If you want to shoot long range, and build your upper, check out Gibbz uppers. It's a non reciprocating side charger that will let you rack the slide without dismounting the rifle. The price is pretty reasonable, and the receiver looks pretty beefy in the right places. I haven't put my hands on one so I can't give a good review, but I plan on using this upper for my next large frame at build.

I have a Gibbz for my current AR-15 build. So far, I like it a lot. I think it would be great for a precision (prone, bipod) gun, because it would make for very easy bolt manipulations without breaking cheek weld or moving the firing hand grip.
